I spent 10 hypnotic days getting a feel for this unreal place and getting lost in the streets of Tokyo and Kyoto, both places exceeded all my expectations and then some. Often when I travel I like to pick up a funky-looking deck of cards, (even though I can only play three games - snap, solitaire, and sevens) from your standard playing cards with the city name printed on the back, nudie cards from Amsterdam, beautiful shots of city landmarks from Paris, weirdly illustrated suits from Barcelona to the perfectly simplistic designed suits from Copenhagen (just to name a few). I created my own deck of cards with Tokyo in mind, keeping things minimal with my illustrations, going with a bold but accessible colour palette to help define the suits, and keeping the pack and back of the cards super sleek.
