After living just outside of London and having to commute into the city for the best part of two and half years, I absolutely hated everything about it, including my job. I hated the time I was wasting, because of delays or canceled trains and tubes, I hated the amount of money I was spending to get in the office three days a week, only to be spending most of the time working alone, with little interaction with the rest of the team, I hated the number of people rushing around like their life depends on getting to the office and I hated that I was having to leave Murray at home.
So when I decided to leave and set up my own studio and move back up north, I knew it was going to be a game changer.
I love that I can walk down the canal with Murray of a morning, in 45 minutes, or jump on the 4-minute train if the weather is a bit shit. I get to spend more time doing the things I love, I get to spend more time with Murray and I don't feel drained when i get home
I'm really enjoying the new routine, the space and the freedom of doing my own thing, in my own time.
